What began as a small surf shack in the summer of 1968 has since evolved into a sophisticated, upscale clothing retailer with 18 stores in Virginia, DC, MD, PA, NJ, NY. Still privately owned, South Moon Under offers a unique mix of fashions while remaining true to its laid back and free spirited mindset instilled in the founding store over forty years ago.
Their mission is to inspire self expression through the art of fashion. By providing an ever-evolving, carefully hand picked collection of fashion presented in a fun, comfortable, high-service environment we give our customers the opportunity to experience the excitement of successfully and confidently expressing their individual style.
When I went to the opening I almost felt like I was in a trendy New York shop. To attraction attention for the event, which by the way, a portion of the proceeds benefited Alex's Lemonade Stand (kuddos to them!) they had a DJ playing today's tunes and models dancing up on platforms. They got changed every so often and I really enjoyed seeing how the store associates dressed and accessorized them.
We were also treated to fancy cupcakes and spiked lemonade served on silver platters by well dressed butlers while we perused the store. I could have bought an entire closet of things!
Like this adorable red, white and blue casual dress. How cute is this for the 4th of July?
This Chevron purse would go with just about my entire wardrobe. And I didn't think it was all the bad at $29.95.
And the jewelry was divine! I spent a good part of my time at the store browsing these cases. Isn't this statement necklace awesome?
I found a lot of really adorable things that would make gifts like these wipes...The packaging is much cooler than the toddler wipes in my purse. LOL!
This miniemergency kit was cute too! It contains everything a gal might need if she's out and about and has a little fashion snafu. South Moon Under can be found at:
